BUYING CHECKLIST · DHGATE EDIT

DHgate QC photos: see the exact item before you buy.

Always ask the seller for recent quality-control (QC) photos of the exact item and variant you intend to order. Ask for several angles, detail shots and measurements so you can compare its appearance with the listing. A catalogue photo is a research reference; it is not evidence that your order will look the same.

Our DHgate spreadsheet catalogue contains source photos, with reference images labelled separately. Our QC reference archive preserves the community posts linked in the spreadsheet, including source status and row associations. We have not independently tested those products. This guide explains what to request from the seller and how to keep your own comparison notes.

What does QC mean on DHgate?

QC means quality control or quality check. In shopping discussions, QC photos usually refer to images used to inspect visible details. Ask who took the photos, when they were taken and whether they show the exact variant or a sample. The label alone does not establish that a product was inspected, is authentic or will match the item shipped.

MAKE IT SPECIFIC

Build your DHgate QC request

Choose the option you want checked, then copy a category-specific message. The message is prepared in your browser; review it and paste it into your seller chat when ready.

Photos are evidence to compare, not a guarantee of authenticity, quality or what will be delivered. Confirm the exact option, current total and included parts before paying.

A seller message you can copy

Hello! Before I order, could you send recent QC photos of the exact item and variant you would supply? Please include the front, back, close-up details, size label and measurements. Please confirm the colour, materials, included accessories and total price with shipping. Are these photos of my chosen variant or a sample? Thank you.

Open any catalogue product and select Copy QC request for a message containing its recorded name. Check and edit the name, size and colour before sending it to the seller through DHgate.

Six things to check before ordering

  1. Exact variant: compare the size, colour and item code against your selected option.
  2. Multiple angles: request clear front, back, side and close-up images in ordinary lighting.
  3. Measurements: ask for a ruler or tape measure in the image where fit or dimensions matter.
  4. Visible condition: look for uneven stitching, marks, loose parts and inconsistent construction.
  5. Included items: confirm what is included, rather than assuming everything pictured is supplied.
  6. Current delivered cost: check the selected quantity, destination, shipping and other checkout charges.

QC photo checklist by category

Shoes

Ask for both sides, the toe, heel, outsole, inside label and insole measurements. Check whether images show the same size and colourway. Visual inspection cannot establish comfort, durability or authenticity.

Clothing

Request the front and back laid flat, a close-up of the print or embroidery, seams, cuffs and care label. For fit, request chest width, garment length and sleeve length measured in the photo. Compare with a garment you already own.

Bags and accessories

Ask for the front, back, base, lining, closures, hardware and dimensions. Check the visible attachment points and confirm which straps or accessories are included.

What if the seller cannot provide QC photos?

Do not treat a missing photo as a passed check. Ask whether a current sample photo is available and decide whether the remaining uncertainty is acceptable to you. If the seller changes the product description, offers an unrelated listing or cannot explain which variant is pictured, pause before paying.

Keep an item-by-item research record

Save the catalogue row ID, seller URL, requested variant, photo date and quoted costs together. For example, DH-0008 identifies a catalogue row; it does not verify that seller or product. Use Download saved list to keep your shortlisted row IDs and links in a text file. The catalogue can sort by recorded item price plus shipping, with incomplete totals kept at the end.

Common questions

Are the catalogue pictures QC photos?

They are imported source photos or explicitly labelled reference photos. They are not represented as our own in-hand inspections. Read the photo and source methodology for those distinctions.

Do QC photos guarantee the product will match?

No. Photos show only the visible details in those images. They do not prove authenticity, internal construction, safety, performance or which item will be dispatched.

Should I ask again when buying a different size or colour?

Yes. Ask for photos and measurements relevant to the exact variant you are considering. Do not assume another variant will have identical dimensions or details.

Can I use seller QC photos for my own resale listing?

Ask the photographer or rights holder for permission before reusing their photos. When possible, photograph the actual item you have received and describe its condition accurately.
