DHgate shoe sizing: measurements before labels
By DHgate Edit · Published 4 November 2026
For DHgate shoe sizing, start with measurements of both feet and ask the seller how their chart applies to the exact shoe. A familiar US, UK or EU label is not enough to establish a fit. Confirm the selected design, size system, chart units and current QC before paying.
Our shoe spreadsheet category organises pictured styles and source links. It does not establish a shared size chart across sellers. A boot, lined slipper and low-profile sneaker from the same listing may need different checks.
Measure both feet and keep the original numbers
- Secure paper on a hard, level floor. Stand with your weight balanced and mark your heel and longest toe; a helper can keep the pencil upright.
- Step off the paper and measure the straight distance between the marks. Record the units and repeat for the other foot.
- Keep both measurements and identify the longer foot when asking about the seller’s chart. Record the socks you expect to wear.
Nike’s measurement instructions also use both feet and the longer measurement for its own chart. Nike explicitly distinguishes measured foot length from the CM number printed on its boxes. Do not treat an official-brand chart as proof that an unauthenticated marketplace shoe follows it.
Three lengths that should not be mixed up
| Number | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Your measured foot length | Heel to longest toe, measured while standing. Does the seller’s chart refer to this? |
| A CM/JP number on a label | Is this a size designation or an actual measurement? Ask how it maps to this exact option. |
| Removable insole length | Ask for a ruler photo showing both endpoints and the method. It is not automatically the same as foot length or usable internal room. |
Do not automatically add a fixed allowance to every measurement. ASICS provides an allowance for its running-shoe guide; that guidance belongs to that chart and use. Ask whether a marketplace chart already includes room and what it measures. Length alone also does not resolve width, toe shape, lining or heel hold.
Build your shoe size-check message
Enter your measured foot lengths without adding an allowance. This tool converts units and prepares a question for the seller. It does not choose a size or predict fit. Entries stay in this page; sending the message is your choice.
Ask for QC of the pair and size you will receive
- Both shoes together, then each side, toe, heel and outsole.
- Inside size labels, lining and any removable insole, with a ruler visible when requesting dimensions.
- The exact seller option name, colour, size and current price in writing.
- For boots: shaft height, opening and fastening details. For lined slippers: ask how the lining affects usable room.
Keep the seller’s size recommendation alongside your measurements and photos in a sample-order record. Use the full QC photo checklist for construction and design questions. Photos can help you compare an item; they do not authenticate a brand or guarantee a fit.
Common shoe-sizing questions
Should I always size up on DHgate?
No universal rule applies to all sellers and designs. Confirm the exact chart, units and measured option rather than automatically changing a size.
Can I use the brand’s official size chart?
It can explain that brand’s size system. It does not verify that a marketplace listing follows the same dimensions or uses the same construction. Ask for measurements of the actual option.
Does a 27 cm insole mean a 27 cm foot will fit?
That number alone does not establish usable room, width or toe shape. Ask what was measured and compare the same method with a similar shoe that fits you.
What if a seller cannot show the size I want?
Keep the fit unconfirmed. A photo of another size is a reference, and a catalogue image is not current QC of your intended pair.
